Zager was hungry. Hours of important science had taken their toll on both the old man's mind and body, and he needed to refuel. 

Being the focused worker he was, Zager was known for going long stretches of time without any kind of nourishment. Hunger and sleep went by the wayside when one was fully absorbed into their research, and satisfying either of those could mean, in Zager's eyes, losing the next important discovery.

Zager was alone in his office, looking over some data and photographs from a recent mission by a few of his subordinates. 

He'd never, in all his years of study, seen anything quite like this. Perhaps it was truly something out of the ordinary, perhaps it was simply due to new, advanced technology that was more sensitive than the previous models, but the numbers he was reading on studies, across the board, were different than they'd been in years.

Zager's job, of course, was to exploit this data for the glory of Team Rocket. It was one he savored- knowledge for him was a drug, a drug that brought him power and money and more importantly the thrill of making a new discovery, the rush of playing God, the chance that he could make history for better or worse. 

"Fascinating."

In a black van on the side of the road, Zager watched the various bars and line graphs measuring data from the surrounding area light up. This was it, this was the spot, this was everything his months of careful calculation and research had been leading up to.

His hypothesis had been correct. Of course, he chuckled to himself, it always is. That was why he was the Doctor, after all. 

But data on the screen didn't give the full story, and that in particular was what set Zager apart from Team Rocket's other researchers. Unlike his fellow scientists, Zager was unafraid to step out and get his hands dirty rather than simply pass the entire job off to field agents while he stayed inside among his monitors and machines. What was the fun of science, after all, if you're not there personally making the discoveries? Even at his old age, the lust for encountering the new and unusual was alive and well in Zager.
