Though I have returned to my apartment, as I had left, in one piece, I am yet uncertain whether I might describe my escapade a success. I am woefully ill-prepared for any further ventures, as such I was equally so for this one. I do not regret to my choice to perform the ritual, in spite of my current state, and though my pen shakes as I write this, I would do it again a thousand times over, if granted the opportunity. However, I would be remiss not to allow my mind and body a period of recovery, and yet another period of preparation, before I consider gathering the materials necessary to try again. Another time, I will pen in detail what strange and unusual sights I beheld; for now, I am thankful I kept my head long enough to think to take a few samples. I have left them on my work bench for further analysis, once I have rested. My hope is that returning to the monotony of my work will put my brain at ease so that I may think more clearly. For now, I need a drink.

Given the already secretive nature of my peers-- who could blame them, truly?-- I have thus far neglected to transcribe my personal dealings, for paranoia of someone else seeing what horrors are wrought upon my workbench. However, it has become pertinent to begin keeping a record for myself, as I am about to delve into unknown territory. Foresight provides me also with the grim realization that perhaps this will, as well, help me keep my head on straight, as it were. I have stolen a holy chalice from the Cathedral Ward. If I can gather the necessary materials, I will perform rituals here in my apartment, and descend into the ancient labyrinth beneath this damnable city. The Choir can no longer hide their secrets from me; I already-- as though my admission of stealing from the church has not condemned me-- have seen their pet Great One, felt Her unearthly flesh, and I know they dug Her out of the world underground. As such pristine knowledge was revealed to them, only to be locked away from public view, so shall it be revealed in turn to me. My own quest for the unknowable will not be smothered by their regulations; superior or no, I am a scholar. I need only now seek out pure, ritual blood.
Hi. Welcome to my ocverse blog. I've been working on a story and various characters and concepts for a long time. I usually tag things that remind me of the characters/setting here, or other miscellaneous things. I don't make the rules, I just own the blog.
I'm bad at both introductions and summarizing my own story, so... You might just have to figure out what the hell it all means. Or send me an ask, if you want to read a small essay.
I’m thinking about playing Bloodborne, what’s it like?
It’s honestly hard to explain in few words, but I’ll try! :DFirst thing to mention is that it’s a hard game. It also got a lot of different ways to play it- such as character builds and weapons, it’s just to pick and chose of what you like best.Bloodborne is a very bleak game(rated 18!), with concepts taken from cosmic horror mixed in very well, and a story that is read mostly between the lines, such as proceeding in the story by beating bosses and moving on to other areas, and reading item descriptions. The gameplay is aggressive and fast (and reactionary), you’re actually encouraged to keep attacking even if you’ve been damaged, since you regain a part of your lost health with each hit! There is bosses, akin to Dark Souls, most of which are hard as heck mostly, but are possible to beat with some practice, as least that’s how it was for me. It’s such a rush of a rewarding feeling once you beat them though, and just from that, I’d say all the work is worth it!
A thing to know is that you need Blood Echoes to level up (that you get from enemies you’ve defeated), which can be lost upon death, and needs to be recovered either by an enemy, or it’ll be laying around where you died, and you can pick it up. If you die before you get it though, they’re lost forever. (No matter if an enemy has it or it’s on the ground. And if you lost them in a boss room you essentially have to defeat it to go and level up, you can’t leave boss rooms before they, or you are dead.)
OH and you do not die in a traditional sense in this game! You are just sent to the “hub” of the game to go right back into the action, no losses of items or such, only Blood Echoes.
This is just a short little summary of what I can think of though, it’s not definitive. And I’d really recommend to playing it, compared to watching gameplay. It’s just not the same, especially for the “story” the game has, and the sheer satisfaction of beating that boss you’ve been stuck with.
Thank you for the ask! :D I love talking about games I love to play, and even do sometimes c’:
