‒ FRUSTRATION BOILED inside of Nessarose as she just tried to make it through the first week at her new school. She and Elphaba had just transferred to this new school halfway through the year and it wasn’t going very smooth. Every teacher had been trying to make absurd accommodations for her and piling her with all of the study sheets for upcoming midterms.
And to top it off, she wasn’t smart. Nessarose was not a very intelligent student, like her sister had proved to be. All of these study sheets would do nothing if she didn’t understand what any of it was in the first place.
So, now, she had been combing through the halls trying to find the place where she was to meet with her tutor ‒ a student called Boq. Nessa had heard all about it in her last class from a very kind teacher.
It was a center in the South Wing of the school called The Clever Center and it was where she was to report everyday after the second bell rang until 3:10. Her and her tutor would work on various worksheets and different subjects to prepare her for the upcoming tests.
Finally, she turned the final corner that led to her destination. It was filled with children of all grades and students of all different looks. A boy from across the center saw her slowly enter the big dome and waved her over to the table he was at.
At first glance, he seemed to be very musical. Along with the obvious school things, like his backpack and a small red beanie, there was a scatter of various instruments surrounding the table.
‘Certainly he’s not going to teach me that.’
She slowly made her way to the smiling boy’s table and smiled back, nervously. He certainly looked friendly ‒ but then again so did everybody else in this place.
“Hello, are you ‘Book’? I was told to meet you here...” She said, truly hoping she hadn’t messed up the pronunciation of his name.
