“When did this start?” Shouto asks, setting the laptop aside, his gaze warm on Izuku’s face.

“Do you remember the villain fight when I used your handkerchief to tie off a wound?”

Shouto’s eyes widen in recognition. “Oh,” he breathes. “Yeah, I remember that. You’ve been thinking about this since then?”

“Mmhm. Would you — would you be willing to —”

“Yeah,” Shouto says, a bit too quickly. “Yeah, I would. I’d need to do some research myself, but, god, yes. The idea of you trusting me like that is actually really hot.”

Izuku laughs. “You might be into this even more than I am.”

Shouto leans in to kiss him, his mouth hot as his fingers slip up into Izuku’s hair to keep him in place. 

Izuku hops through the mountain forest, weaving between dense tree trunks and leaping over gnarled roots with skill.

Nights like this, where he can test his limis, feel the strength of his hind legs as he effortlessly moves through his domain, are his favorite. It’s calm and the air is sweet with the coming spring, the ground cool and hard beneath his paws.

On a Tuesday she orders some fake plants, books and trinkets to fill out her bookshelves, a cute toilet paper roll holder for her bathroom (it’s a black cat that holds a roll in its stomach! So cute), and thanks to Amazon Prime it all comes Thursday evening. To her delight, she opens the door to the same green-haired delivery person.

He hefts all the boxes in his arms and grins at her around the side of the box pile. He’s gotten a bit more tanned since last time, his freckles standing out on his cheeks.

“Hello again, Miss,” he says cheerfully, like he’s genuinely glad to see her.

Later that evening, when Ochako is squished into a crowded train heading home, she gets a ping on her phone. She fishes it out of her pocket and sees it’s a notification from Tsu. She opens the message, and sees one of their photos with the elephants, their arms making a heart over their heads.

“I remember Eijirou crying about it once. Like actually crying. And he and Katsuki started planning, like, nine months in advance.”

“Huh. I remember that too, now that you mention it.”

“No one said getting engaged was the easy part. I don’t even know where to start.” Izuku’s grumbles dissolve into his trademark mumbling, and he aggressively flips the pages of the magazine with his free hand. Shouto grabs his hand and rubs his thumb over Izuku’s knuckles until the tension melts from his shoulders.

“Hey, we’re in this together. And people plan weddings all the time while working full-time jobs, so it shouldn’t be that hard…right?”

“Right!”
