More news (and dodgy photos)!

My M. ocellatus were originally sold to me as 2 males and a single female. Turns out, that they’re actually 2 females and a single male (or, at least, that’s how it looks)!

When they first arrived, the (actual) male was considerably smaller and paler than the supposed males, so...seemed a safe assumption that the genders were accurate. This didn’t change ‘till about 2 months ago, when the ‘female’ suddenly started developing long/brightly-coloured finnage...hm.

I decided that, maybe, this was a particularly bright female (given that this little’n was still half the size of the others), but then a couple of people rightly pointed out his body shape, colouring, and fin-length...and I’ve been having to reconsider everybody’s genders.

SO thank you to those who pointed my mistake out - if you hadn’t, I’d still be misrepresenting my babs!
