On June 25th 1978, the rainbow flag made its first appearance in front of San Francisco's Civic Center on Gay Freedom Day. The flag was thought up by Gilbert Baker and friends who hand sewed countless flags. The original design included two additional stripes: hot pink for sexuality and turquoise for magic/art. The pink fabric was more expensive so it was dropped. The turquoise was dropped to make the flag an even amount of colors so they could fly it in two parts on on June 25th the following year. Since then, the flag has undergone other changes and new flags have been made to represent additional identities. This year, a new flag popped up in Philadelphia. They decided to add a black and brown stripe. The more color more pride movement intended to fuel discussions about discrimination, diversity, and race. Our community has a problem with race. Queer people of color especially black trans women are the most marginalized. We need to stand up and fight for them! For pride I decided to do a collage of monochromatic makeup looks for every color of the rainbow. π€Black community (black) βπ½Brown poc (brown) β€οΈLife (red) πΆHealing (orange) πSunlight (yellow) πNature (green) πHarmony/Peace (blue) πSpirit (purple/violet) #pride #pridemonth #transisbeautiful #blacklivesmatter #rainbowflag #π³οΈβπ #maclovespride
