Friday Ginreview - Stobbe 1776 Old Tom Gin . Today comes review of one of the oldest gin brands in Germany. Stobbe story started in year 1776 and today Uta Stobbe continues what Peter Stobbe started. More than 240 years ago, Peter Stobbe began distilling a juniper spirit, which he called Machandel. Nowadays Stobbe company produce four different gins. . I choosed Old Tom gin first for tasting from Stobbe Gin range, interesting to taste the sweet side of gin. Gin has been barrel aged 5 months in Chardonnay barrels. Colour is light amber. Known botanicals are Juniper, blackcurrant and bergamot. Green cross marks the Old Tom Gin in Stobbe Gin range. Stobbe Old Tom gin have 42,5% AVB. . Nose: Sweet nose tickling aromas. Barrel gives lovely aroma in scent. . Palate: Sweet and slightly crispy taste comes first. Wood notes with round taste and bergamot aromas is noticeable in dry end. Chardonnay barrel is good choice for agin sweet gin. I could suggest this also neat for digestif drink with cup of espresso and for cocktails this is so good. For gintonic use this works well also. . @stobbe1776 #stobbe1776 #gin #machandel #germany #juniper #fridayginreview #ginblogger (at Lohja) https://www.instagram.com/p/B0qjPrAFCNo/?igshid=1vwd0ku0ow1j8
