With the rich flavors of maple syrup and the crunch of macadamia nuts, these Maple Macadamia Blondies are a great take on the classic brownie. They are great for any time of day when you want something sweet.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1 cup brown sugar. 1/4 cup maple syrup. 1 egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350F 175C. Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and maple syrup until well combined. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped macadamia nuts. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the blondies to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
