Top 5 Favorite Mac Eye Shadows (Or, What You Should Buy If You're a Newbie MAC Lover)
^ 1. Cranberry - Hailing from MAC's Frosted shades, Cranberry is an easily blendable, shimmery color that warms up any autumn or winter look. If you have blue or green eyes this plummy, red color will make your eyes POP without be veering into that pinky/red sickly look that some red-toned shadows create. Â
^ 2. Quarry -Â A smooth, neutral matte shade that I use to blend out dramatic eyes or use as a wash of color when going for a quick, natural look.Â
^ 3. Satin Taupe - This shade is a stunner. Shimmery but still subtle, pigmented but easily applied, Satin Taupe can take you from a stylish office look to a bronze-y, smokey eye for a night out. If I could only use one of these shadows this would be my pick.Â
^ 4. Swiss Chocolate - This is my go-to shade when I need a transition shade between a black as night eyelid and a highlighted browbone. See the photo below. Just like the other colors in the list, Swiss Chocolate blends well even though it's completely matte which is hard to find.Â
^ 5. Vanilla - Not completely matte, but not a true shimmer, Vanilla is an essential brow bone and inner-eye highlight that I cannot live without. I also love to use it as the lid shade in a sixties inspired cut crease.Â
L to R - Vanilla, Quarry (it's pulling a bit warm in this swatch), Satin Taupe, Cranberry, & Swiss Chocolate
