Went to the March for Racial Justice in NYC today. My friends and I were very visibly Jewish (magen david necklaces, signs that said “torah trumps hate,” etc) and when we got on the subway to go home a woman started staring at us really hard.Â
After a minute, she started chanting this thing about how all the “deceivers” would be burned alive by the power of Jesus. My friend and I just kept our heads down. Everyone else looked away. She kept staring and chanting, getting louder, until she got off a couple stops later.Â
ON SEPTEMBER 30, WE WILL MOBILIZE ORGANIZATIONS, GROUPS, AND INDIVIDUALS, TO STAND TOGETHER FOR RACIAL JUSTICE IN WASHINGTON, DC. Take a stand with us. None of us are free until all of us are free. Please contribute what you can to help.Your contributions will cover some of the costs affiliated with the march including security, permits, and other required costs as well as costs for a Stage, Sound, Security to ensure an effective event. So my roommate and I went to a protest march in DC today with literally thousands of people and it was kind of the best thing ever
They are learning to be an example for each other. They are learning to be unapologetic. They are learning that there is no reason to cower or to be fearful to demand liberation for All Black Women. They are learning they are not alone in this journey. - - #m4bw #m4bwfl #sayhername #queerblackparenting #blackqueerparenting #blacktranswoman #blackgirljoy #blackgirlmagic #m4rj #intersectionality #humanrights #allblackwomen #allblackwomenmatter #qwoc #audrelorde (at Wynwood Art District)

FACEBOOK HIVEMIND: I am a co-chair for the March for Racial Justice and I've been working with volunteer organizers since June with a group of activists in DC and across the country. The march was called in response to the non-conviction verdict of Jeronimo Yanez, the cop who killed Philando Castile and the continual miscarriage of justice in police brutality/murder cases. We are working to help harness the national unrest and dissatisfaction with inequity, racial injustice, and white supremacist violence into a national mobilization fighting for civil and human rights and equity. Valerie Castile, Philando's mom, will be speaking at the march in addition to other family members of police brutality victims and activists. PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD and donate towards our fundraising efforts if you can: bit.ly/DonateToM4RJ Follow us: @M4RJNow And Join us in D.C. on September 30th for the March #m4rj #indigenousresistance #solidarity #nooneisfreeuntileveryoneisfree #nojusticenopeace
