As for "Rebel", I’m thinking of rewriting the concept so it becomes a Batboys x Spider!MC—not platonic, but romantic, you know? The MC is honestly the last thing I’ve been obsessing over this year. I think that, out of all the ideas on that masterlist, (Im) Pulse is the one that excites me the most. Not only because there’s such a lack of long, romantic yandere Batfam fics, but also because of the challenge the fic itself represents.

For this one in particular, I want to dive much deeper into the characters’ psyches. In all my stories, I always leave a trail of analysis based on how I interpret a character’s behavior, and from there I try to build a coherent plot with highs and lows, always prioritizing character development. But I usually keep that analysis pretty ambiguous—mostly so the fic doesn’t start feeling like a scientific paper dropped in the middle of melodrama.

Here, I want to take it a step further and try to outdo myself, both in how I write comic characters and in how I write the reader themself. It’s a huge challenge, one that excites and scares me in equal measure.

The only thing I can really reveal about the plot is that it’ll be something like a Reader Insert. Unfortunately—for my boys and my gender-neutral readers—I’m afraid this time it’ll be a Fem!Reader. I want to focus 100% on giving the character a solid, worthy development, and I’m worried I won’t be able to balance that properly with the pressure of doing a good GN!Reader representation.
