Where did you see Camelot say that GS was their main focus after they released DD? I actually haven't seen anything of the sort myself. Though it could just be that it's something that hasn't been translated into English.
Oh, gosh, I know it was in English, but I read it right after DD came out in the fall of 2010, so I couldn't remember it for the life of me. ;;

I'm actually sort of confused, the ending of DD made me think that they planned to do 3 and 4 and tie them together like the first GS games. But it doesn't really seem like they planned GS4 at all, even though they're open to making it. That's sort of disappointing because I recall seeing the Takahashi brothers talk years ago about how they were making a script for GS3 that would satisfy previous fans of the series. Yet GS3 seemed more like the beginning of a story rather than a complete one. D:
Well, they did say that this is also the beginning of the "true" GS franchise--TBS and TLA were just prequels to introduce the initial important players and allow fans to experience Isaac/Felix's journeys and the Golden Sun Event firsthand. I actually wouldn't put too much stock in them saying they haven't planned anything--I think a lot of this is a publicity move to make the fans stop and think about how ungrateful they've been.
Did Dark Dawn really do well in Japan? I actually read somewhere that it wasn't popular over there at all. And that the main GS fanbase is over here in the US. D:
Compared to over here, yeah--and the fandom over there is smaller, but it generates a lot more stuff and has done some crazy creative things like beta fangames based on other franchises. ;; Either way, I feel like the Japanese fandom at least appreciated Dark Dawn a lot more than the Western fandom did, sadly. orz
