     His eyes fall and his lips purse for a moment, but then... his brows furrow slightly as if he’d just figured something out. His gaze flutters back to Lilli once more, gentle-- and yet... there is an almost uncharacteristic intensity within his eyes.    “ T h e n . . . replace it with something more powerful than the memories which caused your nostalgia.”            And then a smile, one which holds so much sincerity, one may even shed a tear upon the sight of it. One -- which one who knows Nathaniel, may consider to be miracle to have appeared upon his face.         “ You do know what that means, then-- yes?” A soft sort of playfulness suddenly twinkles within his eyes, and he stands, hand outstretched invitingly-- hopefully, and not at all FORCEFUL.     “ --- Pack a bag; I’ve the perfect remedy in mind. ”

   “ --  . . . it’s beautiful.  ”

    Dark brows furrowed as he finally peered back at Henry, concern -- shame, even, mixing into his expression.       “ I’m so sorry... if I frightened you...” And so, he makes another attempt. “ I’m.. I’m sorry that I’ve upset you so...” And once more, he’s at a mental road block.        What does one SAY in a time like this?             “ I never meant.... ---”      Should he step forward, offer an embrace -- some sort of comfort?? Surely ANYTHING would be better than simply standing there. He was certain he must have looked quite ridiculous indeed...

   Initially, his reaction was that of concern. ‘Was she okay? Was she upset or worse-- hurt??’ Then, it shifted to mere curiosity. ‘Perhaps he’d forgotten something--?’     Dark brows raise for a second, then furrow deeply shortly after as he tries his best to try to piece it together. But alas... Nothing seems to fit. He can’t figure out the cause, but--      He realizes then, that really ? She needn’t one. She need only ask if she wished him to stay longer. To tell the truth? He’d been trying to think of a way to get to know her better -- spend a little more time with her perhaps, if she’d like it.     Nate’s expression softens greatly, although still not entirely certain as to WHY-- he complies to her plea regardless. Perhaps she was just lonely; sad, perhaps. Maybe she just needed some company. But surely.. She could choose someone more interesting..? Someone with more to say and more to do? Nate had no illusions: he very much knew he was not the most spectacularly interesting person in this day and age. In fact, most could [and likely would] consider him a BORE.     Nevertheless, he shifts; turning towards her once more, and nods; features visibly full of curiosity and concern, as well as.. perhaps.. Empathy. Gentleness sat in his gaze, as if he were afraid she would shatter like porcelain, if he were not careful. Still soft, still warm-- he simply offers a small nod and smile, returning to her side, his voice offering comfort, should she need it.     “ Mm.. Would you like a tea, then? -- or perhaps a coffee?        It would be no trouble at all, I assure you.”
