becoming the vestige has taken its toll on Isla over the last decade. from literally losing her life and the struggle with identity, to the people lost and responsibility burdened onto her, to constantly having to give up a piece of herself to continuously save a world that doesnt appreciate her. having everyone return for solstice made her have to confront how much she has truly changed over the years and worry about disappointing people by not being the person they think she should be. she wants to be happy, carefree, trusting - but she cant.

darien's return wasn't sunshine and roses for her. she was afraid she wouldnt be able to love him again and that she wasnt the person he fell for all those years ago. so much of her wants to be able to go back to that time when things felt so much easier, when it didnt hurt to look at him or anyone else.
