First things first, search for official breeders and if possible, buy your mouse from them. If this is not an option, search for un-official breeders or breeders who raise mice for snake food. Only if these methods don’t work, consider a pet shop. First make sure these things are fine before buying your mouse: 1. Female and male mice are kept separately. Mice’s owner knows which mice are females and which are males. (Learn to do this yourself beforehand.) 2. Animals are healthy and have big enough terrariums or cages. They have food and water available. 3. Make sure the mother mouse only has 6 or less baby mice to care for. Bigger litters are a big health risk for both the mother and the babies. 4. All mice sold are at least 5 weeks old. 5. Mice are dewormed before leaving to a new home. 6. Mice don’t bite, run in circles or constantly scratch. 7. Owner knows how to handle his/her mice.

Lyyli’s favorite toy was the running wheel but she never got slim no matter how much she ran in it and was a bit fat. It might have been her overweight that took her life one day in her sleep in September 2011.
