Little siblings are hard work. Babysitting just one is bad enough, but when there’s four...
Serena dutifully stands in the middle of the Entrance Hall, head bowed, arms folded, and eyes closed. She counts under her breath.
“...ninety-eight… ninety-nine… one hundred.”
Here she comes. There’s no point shouting it.
She checks the alcoves by the stairs first, remembering her own hiding space years before - and finds nothing. Then, she tries behind curtains and under decorative tables, but alas, all empty.
But a distant sound comes from the hall above - tiny running feet and stifled giggles. It’s not hard to tell just who’s making the commotion.
“Nim! I thought we said no moving around when you’re hiding! That’s cheating!”
And also the third time one of them had tried the trick. Serena groans to herself as she rolls her eyes, takes off at a sprint, and begins the chase. Again.
