Her emotions have been frozen for a long time, I think that is because she wanted to protect herself. When you love someone, you give this person a huge power to “push your buttons” (your daily mood and feelings depend on this one person). She sings he painted her golden. It’s like she drowned in love for the guy. She even didn’t know why. It wasn’t because of.. , more like ‘in spite of’.
