In Skarù·ręʔ, we call Indian corn - or white corn, the kind you shuck and make into cornbread and corn soup - kanęhakè·ra·t. The month of March, in fact, is named after it - Kanęharę́ʔkye "(white) corn planting time," because back when we lived in North Carolina the weather got warmer faster and so we could plant corn in March as opposed to later in the colder north.

We have different words for different kinds of corn. Unę́heh is the generic catch-all term, whereas kanęhakè·ra·t specifically refers to the kind of white corn that is part of the Three Sisters.
