The sole owner and full time employee of The Loungeâ a strange character known as Lycanthus. Little is known about his past, but what is known is that he seems to be just slightly off. He seems to be fascinated with humans especially, thus implying he may be of a non-human origin, and he doesn't quite seem to understand emotions the same way others would. Most things amuse him in one way or another, and he seems to enjoy doing just about anything but his job. In fact, he seems to completely disregard the fact that he has customers to serve at all, telling them to "serve themselves" instead. He seems to be far more preoccupied with entertaining himself than he is with serving drinks.
Lycanthus claims to be a demon. Whether or not this is true is debatable, as he isn't the most trustworthy of people, but he does possess a great deal of magic powerâ none of which he is apparently allowed to use on others as long as he remains in the cafe. And, as it happens, apparently he is more or less trapped within the lounge's confinesâ and why? If asked, he'll say he made a bet with the devil and lostâ but the actual details of the bet itself seem to change with each retelling. Who knows what actually happened.
Despite his odd behavior and blunt, narcissistic personality, Lycanthus does enjoy running his little cafe and rarely means any harm by his words or actions. Although he may be difficult to understand at times, regulars will come to understand the way he works... eventually.
he is over a thousand years old; we're not sure how old exactlyâ might be much longer.
he only semi-corporeal. exists between concept and reality.
he is technically genderless, as gender is a silly human construct, but chooses to present masculine.
he uses a humanoid facade in the cafe.
his true form is completely black/void humanoid figure with varying features such as eyes, claws, teeth, etc.
he lost a bet with satan and is now serving a cafe between worlds as an indefinite punishment.
his main human form is that of a slender, pale-skinned male with red eyes and white hair, ranging from early twenties to mid thirties depending on his mood.
he can easily shapeshift.
he is a very powerful demon; his area of specialty is messing with the psyche.
can use various forms of magic. usually, he uses it to enable his laziness.
he cannot physically harm others within the cafe. retribution will be dealt if lycanthus violates this rule. the rule only applies to the cafe grounds, but seeing as he cannot leave, he is virtually unable to harm anyone. this does not take into account nonphysical/psychological damage.
he finds living beings extremely fascinating in a condescending way. says they're cute, hilarious, and disgustingly pathetic.
he is perpetually bored with his existence, always trying to find ways to entertain himself.
he is incapable of feeling any healthy form of affection or attraction towards others. his affection usually comes in the form of fascination, curiosity, and obsession.
he finds the bodily functions of living things utterly disgusting but somewhat entertaining in a way.
he is not "evil" per se. he operates on a different set of values.
he is pretty much sociopathic.
he enjoys socializing and is a wonderful conversationalist.
he is a wonderful actor and a talented/frequent liar. totally untrustworthy.
he is extremely self-centered, egotistical, and lazy.
he has some degree of honor though, and values politeness and image.
this does not stop him from being a little shit.
demons cannot die via normal methods; if his physical form is destroyed, he simply regenerates
demons can feel pain, but their pain threshold is significantly higher than living beings.
all demons are some degree of emotionally/mentally unstable by human standards. this is a norm.
if asked about his bet with the devil, he tells a different story every time. none of them are true.
his favorite beverage is a good cup of darjeeling tea with honey and a biscuit.
