lucas was a person that if he didn’t got a post it note, a reminder or even better, a person - to tell him that he needs to eat, then he’d forget & will lose a day without eating, AGAIN. and that was the main reason his approval slipped past his lips so quick upon the younger’s suggestion.
sounds good, i’ll wait for you here.
it was around five or either six pm when she left & the boy’s body was still in place, his body sunken into the couch, his long legs against the small coffee table he had in the living room, a puffy pillow under his neck & his dogs onto his left side - fingers dug into the fluffy & white fur of his, stroking it ever so slightly as his eyes were glued on nothing but the wall.
it’s not everyday that he gets home early from the studio & since today was indeed THAT DAY, he was just too lazy to even move. ( a principal reason of why he decided to wait for yumi on his couch instead of being a good boy and keeping company while she got the food but hopefully she’d understood his reason… if not, the he’d probably need to get her something in return for being nice to him & making him remember his NATURAL needs. ) and most importantly not letting him starve to death.
the click of the front door came quite unexpected to the male’s ears, the sound making his body rise a bit - so suddenly blinking rapidly as the dog flung from the couch & towards the kitchen ( where the girl headed ) and still, his muscles, bones and whatever he got in that body of his, didn’t move. aside from the eyes that by now have probably gotten tired of the damn wall they been staring for the past two to three hours.
his head turned to the door frame as her body came to his vision, a sleepy smile plastering over his lips as he let his eyes rise up to meet hers. ❛ i totally didn’t sit here and stare at this ugly wall while waiting for you. ❜
In all actuality, Yumi merely wanted a night walk ( or well, night drive ) to breathe in the fresh air before heading back to Lucas’ place. So getting food for the older wasn’t too much of a hassle for her. Besides, she knew that he hasn’t eaten at all due to his forgetful and lazy self.
“I’ll be back soon, you better not fall asleep on me during the time I’m out,” she mumbled loud enough for him to hear. And with that, Yumi escaped his cozy abode.
Thank God Lucas was feeling lazy and tired at that moment since she didn’t need nor did she want company at the moment, thus this was a win-win situation for the both of them; he gets food and she gets her solitary time. Driving along the streets of Seoul for nearly an hour, her eyes kept searching for some sort of Japanese store that allowed take-outs because she was craving for her motherland’s delicacies. ( Hopefully, Lucas wouldn’t mind as well. )
The moment she saw a restaurant in her peripheral vision, the girl hurried along to the eatery.
Eyes wandering on the surface of the menu, she deliberately took a long time to decide what to get, already having cold soba in her mind. “冷やしそばをください,” she finally decided to order after what it seemed like, twenty minutes. “Two bowls, for take-out.” Yumi quietly thanked them before reaching for her wallet, swiping her debit card to pay for the meal.
Ah... would he want a drink as well?
Yumi decided to order drinks after the food came out. Taking a seat at the waiting area, she fished out her phone and played some games on her phone. It took them a good thirty-five minutes to prepare the food, so when they called for her order, a groan escaped her lips as she stood up to receive her meal. “Ah, do you guys also have two bottles of 酒?”
Finishing up her orders and whatnot, Yumi went back to her car with their food before speeding along the streets to Lucas’ place.
She headed to the kitchen the moment she arrived at his place. “I hope you don’t mind cold soba and sake, Lucas. Also... I’m sure you didn’t stare at the wall for such a long time,” she laughed softly before setting the food on the wooden table. When his dog ran up to her, she met Salt at eye-level and stroked his fur softly. She cooed at the furry dog, “Salt, did your owner fall asleep during the time I was out?”
