Oh gosh, it's been a while since I've thought about her- But let's--!
My first impression
This is one I'm keenly aware of; I did not like her at all-- I was way more into Snatcher, and it took me realizing that she fit into a lot of my aesthetics and we had some other similarities for my fixation to completely swap over to her
My impression now
Of canon Vanessa? don't really wanna think about her post- that one DLC... Of my own Vanessa? Baby. Sweet baby. Needs therapy and kisses. (And to be kept away from the booze)
Favorite thing about that character
Both of her designs are A++! Also I still love the horror game-way of supplying her lore (which, uh, interestingly Dottore wound up having some similar documents...)

Everything about the fandom and everything about the fan-made canon DLC :)

I think my favorite way back when was one of her diary entries (I think one that was cut from the game?) that had her decide to sneakily take a cookie to eat despite being forbidden from it by her mother

There is -not- many options for this (very sad), so ummm...probably one of the ones I wrote, to be honest--

It woulda been cool to see her interact with anyone outside of her designated level in the base game--

Okay, so, I don't know the character's name, but there's one that has blonde hair, red eyes, and a black choker that keeps showing up in certain kinds of fanart, and she looks SO much like how I drew Vanessa, I used to just pretend it was actual fanart of her (since that sort of thing was insanely sparse)

A silly one for you; if she were to be placed in a modern environment, she would quickly discover a love of frozen treats like ice cream and froyo!

I had. Many. I have no idea what the current state of the fandom is, but I generally think the reaction to her was way overblown and overdone, and I despise the DLC featuring her with a burning passion for adding the fanon to canon
