Technically veers more Tim and Cassie-focused more than straight Cassie focused, but the last couple are more Cassie-centric, so I'm choosing to include it anyway :D

Fire at my Feet Again by @angel-gidget - more timcassie because I'm predictable <3 an older Cassie and Tim cope with being asked to mentor a new team of young heroes. I love the dynamic between them here -- they're both young adults by this point, but gidge captures the dynamic between Cassie and Tim so well, and I love how they write Cassie's voice

fireflies by @mintchocochipsposts - honorary cissiecassie mention. this one is technically more Cissie-focused than it is Cassie-focused, but it is still extremely cute (and angsty) and I like it a WHOLE lot, so I'm including it anyways <3

this fic idea was from a WHILE ago, literally november of 2024. Because my notes r fairly short and succinct, I'm just going to give you my notes verbatim:

Premise: a look into Diana and Clark’s friendship

Early days: Diana gets Clark to spar with her because she notices that he’s too careful in everyday life and too reckless/untrained in combat

Beyond the whole “I was raised to always keep my strength on a tight leash” complex, Clark feels awkward about fighting Diana at first because she’s a woman, even though he intellectually knows that’s not really fair. Diana makes him cry uncle in three moves flat, and then Clark really realizes he can let loose

So basically Diana trains Clark in combat, and they kinda just play wrestle like lion cubs and it’s very wholesome

They’re besties but not in a siblings way it’s like in a very fun, silly, light-hearted way (except when they aren’t being light-hearted)

Headcanon: Diana calls Clark “Kal” not because she doesn’t think of him as being human (she really does see the truth that he is both human and Kryptonian in spirit), but because she wants him to be more connected to his heritage. Also maybe because she likes having almost a nickname for him that she can call him in the field instead of “Superman”

Maybe to parallel that early days sparring/training scene: Clark is really upset, and Diana gets him to spar with her so he can unleash his anger in a healthy way. 

Two options here: either it works because Clark was never allowed that kind of thing as an outlet, OR it doesn’t work because Diana learns the truth is that Clark was never born a warrior

Somebody asks Clark and Diana if they’re dating, and they both make faces. That, or they love fucking with interviewers when this question pops up. Actually I love that second option way more. Bonus points if Bruce is in on the joke and/or if they drag him into it. 

Oh boy, so I've never really been into civilian au's for comics, but you saw the brainwave hit with this one! Dickroy tattoo/flowershop au is like the perfect trope subversion set up and there are shockingly NONE that I could find. (If someone knows one please send it my way!)

Roy and Lian take over running Sherwood Florist for a week or so while Dinah and Ollie are out of town, and it just so happens to be the same week the new owner of the shop across the street opens. Dick's running from Gotham, fresh off the heels of finally telling Bruce he does not want to take over the family business, for the love of God make one of the others do it! He figures the best way to drive that point home is to move across the country and open a tattoo parlor, something no respectable upper-class business man would ever do.

I think Dick has minimal tattoos at this point a few, mostly tributes to his parents and maybe a small flock of birds or something for his siblings, but they're all hidden under his clothes and Roy is judging, he's got several tattoos and his motto is "sun's out, guns out". But Dick comes by the first day for a small bouquet to "liven the place up" charms Lian and keeps coming back.

I think Roy ends up staying the whole summer because of just how enamored he ends up being with Dick. The whole thing is very fluffy, though I tend to add angst, so something will go wrong I'm sure!!

10. How do you decide what to write?

oh this is SUCH a good question -- I'm honestly not sure?? a lot of the time, a scene will spring into my head fully formed, and the rest of the fic is just me trying to figure out how to squeeze a character arc out of it. like, for two hummingbirds in the eye of a hurricane, I knew I wanted to write a two-conversations-in-one trope where Helen was under the impression she was talking to Bart, but Thad thought she already knew it was him, but I had no idea how to get here there, so the rest of the context with the civilian perspective on Infinite Crisis kinda just grew from there

more often though, especially when I'm writing from a prompt somebody else gave me, I end up just staring at the blank page for two hours until I think up a snappy opening line, and then I just keep following that along until suddenly I have a fully realized fic

12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?

oooh another tough one -- I guess maybe I'd say sickfics? I used to steer clear of them entirely since a lot of the time the characters they're written for are the type that wouldn't accept help from another person under any circumstances, and I couldn't suspend my disbelief

However I've since found a couple sickfics that do a really good job of tackling the internalized shame that a character that prides themself on hyperindependence would realistically feel at being forced to rely on someone else like that, and for some reason having it addressed in-fic like that made me do a complete 180 on the whole trope

48. What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?

the last fic I read was (I believe) A Night on Hope's End by @everythingandthekitchensink which is a deeply angsty POV Outsider take on Wonder Woman's time enslaved on a space colony in an alien empire. I personally really liked it! I find this arc fascinating and I never really see it talked about, so it was cool the way the author went into the POV character's head -- the POV character being a Russian cosmonaut Diana was initially captured with -- and the tone is very dreamlike and contemplative in a way that I enjoyed

3. What was the last thing you looked up for a fic?

had to do a bit of sleuthing for this. answer is "superman the animated series clark wearing kryptonian clothing screenshot" which is smth I actually search up quite often tbh.

6. Do you listen to anything while you write? Or do you prefer silence?

When I was a kid, I would put on some music for writing projects, sometimes to help “set the mood” (like playing some medieval ass music for something fantasy) or sometimes to “get into the mood” (like one year I listened to Annapantsu’s cover of All Star like hundreds if not thousands of times because I felt it was thematically resonant with the book I was writing at the time).

Now, I think that’s crazy, and I write in silence. I think this is partially because I spend more brainpower while writing now? Honestly Idk but I don’t think I would ever go back.

26. What is your favorite part about writing?

Sometimes I have a vision, and the prose just flows out of me onto the page, and it’s so satisfying to put together all the pieces in that final stage. Considering that the final stage is my favorite part, I really should be able to finish more works in a somewhat timely manner 😅

Editing is also really fun!! dare i say it is even underrated as a stage in writing. To me it’s kinda like getting the dopamine bursts of writing without having to put in the effort because u already did that!

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

Okay, so I've only technically written Tim once so far (twice if you count the lil cameo in that one YJA fic I wrote when I was 15), but I loooove to make him think about his friends. Even when they're not there, I think it's important that he's always thinking about them and what they would do in any given situation <3

Something I don't like is trying to maintain that balance of giving him enough angst that it's an interesting story without turning him into a full-on woobie 😭 I'm always so hyperconscious of it, even though it's truly not that serious

24. What other character from another fandom of yours reminds you of them?

Ooh this is a tough one for me -- I will say I've been getting some real TimKon vibes off of SpideyTorch recently, but I also don't think the mapping there works one-to-one once you really get into their individual characters

26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever?

Funny answer is the time he exchanged words with a cat and immediately got knockout-gassed over it. Real answer is whatever the hell he and Cassie had going on after Kon's death. Truly, I think about them every day....

Ooh that's a tough question! I always feel like I info dump a LOT in my author's notes, so finding something I haven't already blurted out was fun!

I don't think I've talked about this before with anyone besides my beta, but back while I was working on in the eye of the beholder (part of my Deeply Alien Kryptonians AU where Clark and Kara were both genetically altered during the trip to Earth so that they'd appear more human), a big part of my inspiration for the original Kryptonian design came from marine flatworms!

I didn't go full one-to-one copy ofc -- my version has a kind of exoskeleton along the back, and I took some liberties with the anatomy -- but in my head they were always very similar. The drastic physical differences meant I could really go hogwild imagining how an alien species (cough cough Kara) might see us as the body-horror-inspiring aliens, which was a really fun change in perspective
