Trapped in the grip of Lust (A Few Observations on the Dark Side of Synastry)
Ah, the indignity of lust... it drags a person along, doesn't it? But to where? Perhaps you are simply going there of your own free will and just cannot accept it. It makes no difference. In every situation where you narrow your eyes and gaze with desire, it does not matter whether you do it of your own free will or against it. Come, let us express our desires in all our nakedness. (This text refers to the effects of the asteroid 4386 Lust in synastry. Please remember that this is an observation, and I would like to note that I have sourced this impressive visual from the account @kamaverse.art.)
Mars conjunct Lust
In synastry, Lust represents carnal appetite and "irresistible" attraction felt toward someone. Mars conjunct Lust signifies an era of activity, libido, and a hungry desire for assertiveness. This is undeniably provocative for the Lust person. They come face to face, lock eyes, and there is a sharp swallow. A quick averting of the gaze and a frantic scan of the surroundings almost like a panic attack as they try to redirect their attention. It is the Lust person who experiences this. This is because they are facing Mars, and the Mars person is all about movement and attraction in action. Mars moves at that moment, they may not even have attraction or desire on their mind. However, Lust is a much keener observer than Mars. Lust notices Mars rushing to catch up to something, they are the only one in the room who notices someone leaning in to whisper in Mars's ear. Their perception and interest are so heightened that it’s as if they are one with Mars. Mars loves a struggle. As Lust witnesses this powerful energy, they feel a burning desire to "conquer" Mars or dance with that energy. This is where the "poison" lies. The competition is fiery, putting both parties into a playful, manipulative mood. Both believe they are pulling the strings of a puppet. The relationship may struggle to find a life outside of the bedroom.
Ascendant trine Lust
Can even this seemingly effortless aspect cause unease? Absolutely. In the eyes of Lust, the Ascendant's aura is wrapped in sexual magnetism. The very existence of the Ascendant acts as a stimulant. Lust becomes a master at reading the Ascendant's body language. A single glance or posture from the Ascendant is immediately perceived by Lust as an invitation—a signal of intimacy. Lust derives a secret pleasure from the persona the Ascendant projects to the outside world. The thought, 'Everyone sees how charismatic or beautiful they are, but I am the one who feels the attraction beneath this energy the most,' fuels Lust's self-confidence. At this very point, Lust realizes that something is wrong. In situations where the Ascendant's identity or status becomes apparent, something inside Lust burns with a feeling of constriction. The lust felt is effortless, yes, but it is a feeling that perhaps should not be felt. Being near the Ascendant is of a mesmerizing intensity, yet it also feels like it is not a long-term necessity.
Ascendant square Lust
This person you see before you does not fit your perception of beauty. Being in the same environment as them means nothing to you, yet you wouldn't want to be there anyway. There is something about them that disturbs you. Perhaps it’s their appearance, perhaps their image, or perhaps the fact that they are a highly problematic individual... if you’re looking for a reason, there are plenty. Hey, why are you sweating while trying so hard to maintain your cold exterior? Relax. 'Rising' person isn't going to eat you. I bet you’d rather touch a live wire with your bare hands right now than deal with them. But you must stop acting like a child the other party isn't provoking you they are aware of you and they want to charm you. It’s quite innocent. Far too innocent for mere lust. You will immediately dive into proving yourself because you are powerful people. Turn this into a show of strength walk ahead of them, let out boisterous laughs, and watch for every moment to make physical contact. The result? You are now more disturbed by them than ever, and you’ve entered an endless race of push and pull.
