Been translating comics and literary works I like to Tagalog as a way to practice writing creatively in Tagalog, one of the things i tried is Lackadaisy. The Idea kept lingering in my mind of the Lackadaisy characters in Filipino traditional Formal wear. So i decided to make a hypothetical Cover page Illustration for my translation.
There is no direct translation for lackadaisical that I know of, “Lupaypay” translates more to decay. to me thematically “Nagtitigil” is a better word for it as it is a more somber word for stop/pause. but Lupaypay is a more punchy word to me.
