No, Tod never tried to eat Andre. He isn’t fully aware of what kind of effects Black Lums can bring, and he would be skeptical of trying them.😄
All we know from R3 is that when Globox didn't gain any positive effects after swallowing Andre by accident (he only got a parasite terrorizing him until the Teensie Doctors made him leave).😆
It’s well known that the Lums are the source of energy that can provide their unique positive effects depending on their color.
And for this purpose, Tod uses various Lums to reach his aims to remain powerful and to protect the Glade of Dreams from those whom he considers a threat. (He doesn’t see himself as a hero, but since originally he was created to preserve the Glade of Dreams, he continues to serve his purpose with all kinds of methods.)
Although I can imagine a scenario in which Andre is trying to hide from Rayman (who has the Leptys powers to turn Black Lums into Red Lums), and then he stumbles upon Tod and flies at him, so he accidentally swallows Andre.😆

PS: Tod's favorite Lums are Silver Lums, as they provide the most powerful effects among other Lums, but they are rare to find.
