Today may be Sunday D&D day but today was not the day this particular story occurred on, no, this story happened many moons ago
So, my players followed my plot, picking up the strings and tying, untangling and making sense of the web of confusion I am so proud of. They found their way down into a cave
After a short scuffle with the Bad Guy (whom they let go smh) they investigated the underground-
-“Lake”
This lovely little lake had some interesting traits, it was emitting a slight warmth, it smelled kind of like death and decay, it was rippling with a very back-and-forth rhythm, almost an in-and-out and it didn’t really have the texture of a normal lake either, it was firmer, so firm in fact when a rock was tossed on it the rock sank like Jello.
Do ya see where I’m going with this?
Well my players didn’t, so in all of their geniusness one of them decided the proper way to decide what was up with this lake Was. To. Bite. It.
BITE IT. SHE BIT THE LIVING LAKE
So then my players got to watch in absolute horror as I described the giant Ooze come to life and start fighting them
They did not in fact learn their lesson and have bitten more lakes. Metaphorically of course, but the out come is usually the same
