13. Do you do anything else while watching/listening to CR?

I usually listen to CR while I’m drawing or just when I’m working on uni stuff, I just have it on the background listening to it, when they start screaming I just pause what I was doing to see what's going on lol.

25. Who’s your favorite CR1 villain?

uff this is a difficult question but I think I’m going with the Briarwoods, I just loved how they kept giving the party problems every time they came back.

33. What’s your favorite CR familial (sibling, parent/child, etc.) relationship?

I just really love the relationship between Scanlan and Kaylie, I really liked how it evolved during the campaign and how it helped Scanlan become a better person.  They way they interact with each other is amazing and how their relationship went from “I hate my dad with all my guts” to “My dad is an idiot....but I love him”.

6. What’s the last thing you read that made you laugh?

i forget what the fic was called but it was a cr2 fic that perfectly captured molly & beau’s dynamic so naturally they were being assholes and roasting each other & i was howling

8. who has the worst luck?

probably fallow! she’s got a very fun case of great luck in the worst possible way. she’s only studying necromancy because she happened to fall from a ladder, break her skull, and spontaneously resurrected herself.

70. does your character have any guarded/secret guild knowledge or family recipe?

the knowledge of how to make a necromancer’s familiar is usually passed down from family to family, and can sometimes take decades, since, in the volgen family especially, it involves raising vultures from hatchlings and burying them for younger generations to uncover.

fallow’s familiar only takes the better part of a year to bury and raise, but she’ll take it.

101. which character is The Most dramatic?

definitely renate. she’d rather call it showmanship, but everyone knows it’s Drama.

135. would your character be content to go back to a normal and quiet life after going on an adventure?

fallow was determined to, for a long time. she was absolutely planning on learning the required amount of necromancy to fix her skull and guarantee her a career once she can’t rob graves anymore, then go right back to her life, but it only takes her a month of apprenticeship to change her mind.

174. does your character get homesick?

3. if they complimented each other, what would they say?

when it comes to compliments, i think vex tends to focus on attributes, and percy on character - which isn’t to say that vex’s compliments are more shallow. just that she likes to focus on the things that are innately true about percy. she tells him he’s handsome, that he’s smart, that he’s kinder than he thinks and is a better man that he believes. there’s almost reassuring feeling to them, sometimes, going from the kind of compliments that percy can buy into (you look very handsome today, you have a brilliant mind) to those that are harder to swallow (you’re good, you’re not broken anymore, i love you.)

percy, meanwhile, goes for verbal affection less, in favor of actions over words to express affection, though he’s happy to express his admiration for vex, as well. one of the things that i like about how percy compliments vex is that he doesn’t actually focus much on appearance, or even on qualities as a whole. he’ll call vex attractive, but usually conversationally. in part because i think attribute-based compliments sound very obvious to him. of course vex is beautiful, of course she’s smart, she’s vex. And while that does seem a bit callous, i think it’s balanced out by the fact that what he mostly compliments is her character. When you go back and watch episode 94, where the running gag (which i loved) is complimenting vex, the things that most of vox machina focuses on are her being beautiful, being cool, being great in this seemingly-effortless kind of way. but percy, in his conversation with vex before the trial that episode, mostly talks about vex’s capability, about him having faith in her. he says he finds her being frugal endearing, and comments on her clarity of judgement. more so than innate traits, which he acknowledges, i think percy expresses admiration for things vex actively chooses to do.

21. how have they changed each other for the better/for the worse?

this is one of those topics i have to be real careful answering, because i will turn this into an essay, right here, right now.

i think in some ways percy and vex’s progression into a relationship is a story about being given the love you can’t see yourself deserving, and, instead of rejecting it, striving to get to a point where you feel right accepting it. and i think that they’ve given each other a lot of motivation for self-improvement, in the way that they can see their problems in another person, and are able to help themselves by helping each other. they didn’t entirely fix each other, and they didn’t entirely fix themselves, but they did some combination of both. and above all, i think they both offered one another a future that they didn’t feel that they would have otherwise.
