I’d mentioned last week that maxi’s were my preferred style of dresses. I think it’s because they give off a boho feel which I’d like to think is my personality. You know, chill and mellow. Whether or not that’s true I think I’m a little biased, but maybe if you knew me you would agree? I think you would;) I seriously believe I was a hippy in my past life. 

There’s something so effortless yet glamours about wearing a long, flowy dress. While I kept if fairly neutral for this look, there was a time I styled it up with a bump. Do you remember? I can’t believe the last time wore this bohemian stunner was nearly a year ago?! Time flies, that’s for damn sure! Now there may be no bump but I sure do love the 7 pound butter ball that came home with me on that beautiful September day!

Maxi dresses also work perfectly for the mom lifestyle. Oh you didn’t know it was a lifestyle? Well it is and dressing the part is part of the gig. A mom must wear functional clothing, and while my role as a mother doesn’t rely on what I wear I’m a firm believe that style should never be sacrificed. So maxi’s are mom approved, in these parts, for the fact that they hide unshaved legs and underpants.

And just like that, 2016 has come to a close which means the last Monthly Round Up post of the year must be shared. This one is especially special because it is the last official post of the series. Yes my friends, I am retiring the Monthly Round Up series for the new year. While I did like sharing a retrospective look of my outfits at the end of every month, it seems that these posts weren’t very popular with FabAve readers. I don’t necessarily like to openly profess my love for a wardrobe item (ha, who am I kidding!) because at the end of the day it’s just clothing, but this dress y’all!? It’s everything that I hope for in dress form that I didn’t even know that I wanted. High neckline. Cheery color. ‘Right above the knee’ length. Ah, this dress is what my style blogger dreams are made of! When I saw Anna of In Honor of Design wear this dress I was immediately intrigued. I knew I had to own it but had just banned myself from purchasing any more maternity pieces. I checked the site only to find it was on sale. SALE. Without hesitation it was in my shopping cart within second and at my door a few days later. I’m telling you now, expect to see TONS from this little yellow number. During AND after this pregnancy. I already have grand plans to wear this floral frock for my baby shower in a couple weeks!

Its been a little while since the last How to Style post went live, so today I thought I’d share one remixing a piece every female has prime and ready in her closet. The stripe shirt. Personally, I consider this item my wardrobe security blanket, I always grab for it when I have that “I don’t have anything to wear” feeling. It pairs with just about anything and I always feel in my element when I’m donning on a stripe shirt.
