☂️ do they crave touch or fear it ?
but basically she’s both violently touch starved and touch repulsed. she’ll melt into your fingertips and a million alarm bells will go off in the back of her head all the while :’)
🎱 what kind of future do they crave, and who’s in it ?
when she was little, her only ever big focus / dream was falling in love with someone very handsome, getting married, and having the grandest wedding ever — mostly cuz it’s what she was considered “good” for growing up, and she really bought into the idea and believed it herself. her being a huuuge romantic… that always stuck with her character even when i was no longer borrowing her from a canon anymore and she became an oc. love, particularly romantic, just defined a whole lot of her character. still does, i just added a loooooot of complicated layers and darkness and lore and magic to it all hehe. and yes she wanted this future partly because it’s truly the only thing she thought she was good for, but she did believe that would provide her an escape or freedom from the life she was living, too. i think in more “human” verses this would be a lot more clear, since i don’t have to explain the nuances that come with marriage alliances for underwater creatures who follow more animal kingdom logic. and we would just be able to use our human understandings of that based on history and love for stuff like. bridgerton and period drama as a whole lolol
as for nowwww, the future is hard to tell and not a linear … or rather consistent type of want. cuz she weaves back and forth between fully wanting to break her curse or succumbing to it. being tempted by the dark powers it comes with at the expense of her whole mind unraveling, losing the love of her family for forever, her birthright and birthright magic… (and also possibly just straight up dying too) (she doesn’t know the full possibilities or outcomes of every option, maré keeps it very obscure and only ever guides her just enough, tortures her just enough, gives her hope just enough, which further contributes to her paranoia and feeling like her mind is unraveling …)
so i think i can give two answers / options, as if this were a video game where the choices you make decide how to characterize the player and eventually decides the story?
so if she does succumb to her curse, she’d crave nothing but intense magical power and would be restless in obtaining it, studying her craft more and more at the expense of anyone and everything. traveling wherever she would need to go, sacrificing anything along the way etc etc. whether or not someone would feature in it is of little concern to her, but if they would help her feed that darkness she’d be “happy” about it and laaaatch onto them.
if she were free from her curse i still think she would be restless and wanna see everything. cuz she was always so fascinated by the earth ever since she was little. learn every human language, song, and story there ever was. but this doesn’t work well with her birthright and needing to be essentially chained to the Caspian once shes an iyesi. i think she’d struggle between which she’d want, but choose her birthright in the end because at the end of the day, no matter what side of the coin/story we’re on, she’ll always be tempted by power and magic. she’d at least make up for it by admitting to herself that it’s okay to have friends and build a circle there. and she’d just wanna make sure her sisters featured in it, and finally win the eternal affections of her father and mother. :’)
