It's a Saturday early morning. I'm going to college to take my last exam of the semester and I am preparing my luggage when my mom pops into my room, puppy eyes as she says "But ARE YOU SURE you don't want me to give you something to eat? Just a little snack, if you happen to get hungry?" And that's the beginning of the end, I know it, I will miss the train if I argue that I don't need it so I decide to trick her. "Whatever it is, I'll take it as long as you it's ready before I zip this thing up, because I sure as heck am not opening it again." I'm confident, the luggage is ready, I just need to add a jacket in, I'm safe and I'll get my train. Perfect. Except she saw right through me. She made me and she knows everything. She comes back in less than a second with an whole grocery bag already filled to the brim and a victorious smile. I lost, I know it already, and I let my eyes slip desperately from the bag to my luggage and return, resigned. There's no way it will fit in.
