list of things my religious art professor has done in class:
went on a 45 minute long tangent about how we are all going to die
he has done this multiple times actually
told us we should “never trust a man with teeth that are too white”
this was in reference to joel osteen
brought in a $25,000 painting he bought on auction and let us hold it
also showed us the Christie’s site and scrolled through all the expensive modern art paintings while letting us mock them
said christian rock was an abomination
spent several class periods bemoaning the state of the education system and being horrified we don’t know historically important events
had to move our class to another room and in the email said “I don’t remember which it was just go to the one across the hall”
told us to ignore what our english professors said about writing papers and to go with his advice instead
(which to be fair was good advice)
called me a “grad student” (I am an undergrad sophomore), to which I responded “I don’t know if that’s a compliment or not,” to which HE responded “Neither do I”
told us Caravaggio was probably sleeping with his model for Jesus
did a French accent while imitating an artist talking about how his painting of Mary was definitely depicting her mid climax
