Containment Procedures:
When SCP-639 is in its dormant incapacitated state it is to be transported to a human cadaver within a silica and tungsten-carbide container measuring 14cm x 10cm x 5cm.
If no cadavers are available within the containment zone upon the expiration of SCP-639-B, all Class C and above personnel within this immediate zone are to undergo emergency evacuation. All other facility personnel are instructed to shelter in place and retained stationed inside their current designated room until the containment zone is secured.
During the active containment of SCP-639-A, two (2) personnel equipped with fire entry suits and cryogenic supply tanks. One (1) personnel is to continuously spray the SCP-639-A instance with liquid nitrogen while other personnel manually disarticulates its biomedical appendage away from the central gemstone core.
Following successful disarticulation of the appendage the personnel are to place the gemstone core into the silica and tungsten-carbide container.

Per Site Director order, the following behavioural mandate has been permanently appended to SCP-639’s active contain file to ensure visibility by its primary host:
SCP-639-B is politely and firmly reminded to refrain from manually extracting SCP-639 from its pre-frontal lobe to avoid doing assigned administrative tasks.
Site management is aware of SCP-639-B’s open hatred for these administrative tasks, but we would like to remind the subject that self-termination is not a valid coping mechanism for avoiding paperwork. If workload is inducing psychological distress, the subject is advised to schedule a formal session with the Site Psychology to discuss better strategies for work-induced wellbeing issues.

Description:
SCP-639 is an ovaline tiger’s eye gemstone, that measures 6.0 cm by 3.0 cm. In both its dormant and active states the gemstone is functionally indestructible to all forms of physical anomalous trauma.
Analysis via infrared thermometer of SCP-639 in its dormant shows that the temperatures of the gemstone has reached an upwards of 523.15 K.
Mechanically, SCP-639 operates as a thaumaturgical hard drive and Elan-Vital Energy (EVE) battery for the Elan-Vital cognition or “consciousness” of SCP-639-B formally known as Dr Ernest Shaw.
SCP-639-A is the active ambulatory state of SCP-639, the entity presents itself as a multi-legged biomechanical organism with the total leg to leg span of 12 cm. While its anatomical structure superficially resembles the species of the Amblyomma Americanum (Lone Star Tick), with the sole difference of SCP-639 as replacement of the organism’s idiosoma.
SCP-639-A occurs when SCP-639-B’s host total biomass drops below 25%. At this point, the subject will disarticulate itself from the host’s pre-frontal cortex and actively seek out the nearest biological humanoid; it will prioritise intact human cadavers that provide the closest match to SCP-639-B‘s original genetic genome, but will also hunt any nearby living humans who share a similar genetic profile.
However, if no cadavers or suitable hosts are present when SCP-639-A manifests, it will consume any nearby biological and non-biological material via the expulsion of a superheated slurry of osteo-biological biomass of what its taken from its previous host’s body in order to construct a new host for SCP-639-B.
Because this process uses up the physical mass of its own appendages the more osteo-biological slurry SCP-639-A expel the slower its movements become.
During SCP-639-A’s manifestation, SCP-639-B enters a state of complete unconsciousness.
When SCP-639 and the -A instance is introduced to a human cadaver, the subject fuses itself into the cadaver’s pre-frontal cortex. During this process SCP-639 “locks” the vessel into a semi-living state with heavily suppressed and cardiovascular functions.

Although SCP-639 have been measured to reach an upwards of 523.15K in its dormant state. When the SCP-639-A is actively seeking out a host, it has been measured at a temperature ranging from 343.15K to 373.15k. And expelling an osteo-biological slurry recorded from 1,823K to 2,773K.

The following text is a typed summary of the eyewitness account notes of Foundation Stenographer Bjarne De Wilde.

We breached the entrance to Pharaoh ██████‘s sarcophagus 40 hours after the telegraph line went dead roughly 2 days ago. And oh god…the air had this…stifling metallic sulphurous scent.
The tomb itself was in absolute ruins. What remains of the 7 men stationed at the encampment was gristly streaks splattered across the walls.
We found the poor Dr Ernest Shaw next to a semi-liquefied limestone pillar naked, huddled and scrabbling at his forehead with manic rust-stricken hands.
As we got closer to the boy, we saw that the Tiger’s Eye gem itself was melded into his forehead with thin root-like tendrils. Shaw himself was hysterical, weeping and babbling something about having Harold’s eyes.
At the end we had to hold Shaw down and force a chloroform rag over his face until the motion and crying stopped. The poor boy was carted back to London unconscious, oh lord please be merciful upon this wretched boy.
