background info

jude was born in santa barbara, ca on october 21, 1997. he is an only child & had a fairly normal childhood with his parents owning a successful marketing company.

the deal when jude graduated high school was that he could choose the college, but his father would pick the degree. business just seemed like the most optimal route, since the costas have plans of their only son taking over the business.

if you knew jude his freshman year, then you knew the rumors. he spent the majority of his first year out partying, sleeping around, and causing trouble. in fact, many considered jude the reveler of omega alpha pi.

many wondered why he had joined ΩΑΠ instead of BΩP, but he had been specifically recruited for his athleticism and skill in lacrosse. ( in fact, he was scouted by luama u & given a rather large scholarship to attend for that lax lyfe )

sophomore year only brought more troubles & one night jude was caught trying to vandalize a statue on campus. the dean offered a warning: one more mistake & jude could kiss lacrosse, greek life, and his scholarships goodbye.

however, the punishment, at the time, seemed much worse. forced to volunteer at the campus’ radio station every tuesday & thursday seemed just about as interesting as watching paint dry.

yet, over the rest of his spring semester, he grew fond of the station & was even able to began playing his own picks and occasionally talk on air. now, he regularly helps out & can be found there most days when he doesn’t have practice or classes.

the jude costa that you may know now isn’t the one you’ve heard rumors of. yes, he did tp the whole science building. no, he didn’t hook up with that one philosophy professor. and, yes, he just might’ve been the reigning beer pong champ for three semesters in a row. but now he seems somewhat different. could it all be just a sham or front ? 

fun facts / interesting info

business is just about the last thing that jude would like to major in. if he could have it his way, he would major in philosophy or peace studies.

jude has a fondness for music. you’ll often see him with ear buds in while walking around in between classes. he firmly believes vinyl is the best way to listen, though. his favorite genre is alternative and folk, but he’ll usually play rap around his frat bros.

where he can be found: the radio station, luama aquarium, starlight lua & the mokes.

although he was considered trouble in all aspects for the first two years, jude is a pretty likable guy. in fact, he can make friends with just about anyone these days. yet, he can also come off pretty cock and self-assured. he knows he good looking, smooth talking, and a sports star. he’s not afraid to show off a little. 

jude has a temper that he just can’t seem to calm down once provoked. it takes a lot to get him to a point of no return, but many usually know not to push his buttons from past stories and personal experiences.

he’s the captain of the lacrosse team ! which means he is serious about the sport & wants his teammates to be too. you won’t see him out partying before a game.

the escapist ( his URL ): jude seems to relate to this label ( even if no one else sees it ) because that’s exactly what he would like to do — escape. often lost in his own thoughts, he dreams of what it would be like to do what he wants. maybe he could travel the globe. maybe he could find his vocation instead of taking over his parents’ business. maybe he could even quit lacrosse. yet, everything that he wants to give up defines him. without all of this...he would be nothing.

an old flame: someone that jude was never really serious about. they dated around for a few months ( maybe longer ) & maybe he led them on just a little too much. in fact, there’s some discrepancy on the reason for them even breaking up...but now jude has been labeled a cheater. TAKEN: SUMMER

radio friends: they met at the station and had to put up with all of jude’s attitude. at first, they probably thought he was a prick. now, he’s grown on them. in fact, one would even say they get along. yet, they come from two different backgrounds...and it seems that a friendship outside of the station would be completely impossible. 

enemies: maybe they’re on the same sports team, maybe they’re rivals within their major, maybe a frat friendship that just turned wrong. either way, this person knows how to push jude’s buttons ( and vise versa ).

the one he brings home to mom: so maybe he might’ve said they were together one time. in all honesty, he just did it because it would get his parents off his back about finding a nice girl. and they were the best option because, well, they were friends anyways .now every time his parents visit they have to pretend to be madly in love. the bad influence: back in freshman and sophomore year, these two did everything together. in fact, they were the ones usually egging each other on to go to extremes. whenever they were around, trouble was sure to follow. now, it seems like they’re not even the same people anymore. TAKEN: JAKE 

( TW: DRUNK DRIVING, CAR ACCIDENT, HIT & RUN  ) the incident: it wasn’t supposed to happen. it was a mistake. in fact, jude isn’t even sure how exactly he got into his car. all he remembers is the accident and him driving away. no one was hurt...or at least he thinks so. maybe he went to your muse, maybe your muse was in the car. idk but that’s his secret tho. homie g basically picked up the best scholarship he could find as far from washington dc as possible ( bc who can trust the government not him )

he’s the eldest in a family of 4 kids , with two younger brothers and a younger sister. his sister is still 8 years old and he loves her with all his heart but don’t say that to his face he’ll deny it.

he also loves his brothers obviously but not nearly as much as his lil sis. 

they’ve had a long running prank-pulling competition, second youngest evan is currently in the lead. 

his mum is all on her lonesome bc his dad left with another woman after abigail was born. his mum and dad never managed to get married in the first place so tommy wasn’t shocked, he thought his dad was always waiting out for a better life and he held such a hatred towards him because of it.

his room is a weirdly dark den, curtains permanently closed, area with the least sunlight, probably rubbish everywhere, we can’t see bc it’s too damn dark

has a misunderstanding of the saying that ‘rules should not be broken’ and instead figures that time accidentally added a word and the original parable was ‘rules should be broken’. he tries to live by this day by day.

is in sigma phi cappa bc his mum told him it would be ‘good to make friends and form connections’ but the other two groups sounded kinda douchey so he chose the nicest sounding one, y’know, the one that’ll look good on your resume and impress your mother in law. 

weirdly superstitious 

basically that chill stoner guy from your school who did dumb stuff all the time but was also managed straight a’s

as a child river always struggled to fit in – he was always the smallest in his age group, he was quiet and only ever had one thing on his mind, music. it was something the other kids couldn’t really understand as they ran around, roughhousing and jumping around the playground while river sat out and pretended to strum his guitar or use his pencils as drum sticks.

he had a natural talent when it came to music, he wasn’t perfect but he worked hard and the passion he had for his craft showed. of course, his instructors took notice of this, his guitar in particular and pushed him into taking more classes as well as private lessons in various different instruments

river’s parents worried as their son began to sleep, breathe and eat music. he lacked the normal childhood experiences. however, he promised them that it was what he wanted. river wanted to be the best he could be.

it wasn’t until he turned fifteen that things took a turn, what had once been his guitar instructor’s helping hand turned into a wandering hand one night when they were alone in the studio ( river was receiving extra private lessons leading up to an audition for a summer program with juliard ).

SEXUAL ABUSE TW: what had started out as inappropriate touching quickly escalated and river was powerless to it, private lessons became a nightmare that he couldn’t wake up from. not to mention, no one would believe him if he told. mr. yates had made sure of it. “you’ve always been my favourite student, you know that? you’re special. you’re my special boy…” he would whisper in his ear.

despite all this going on behind closed doors, river was getting better at his art and everyone could see it. he’d gone from an alright musician with massive to potential to being the best in all his classes, mastering any instrument he put his hands on. he put everything into music, if he just got better, perfected his technique he could be the best. he wanted to be the best and having that to focus on made it all a little easier.

river became a shell of what he once was, he still loved to play music and make music but it wasn’t just about that anymore – it was about being perfect, being better than mr. yates ever was and he was going to do it without her help. if he was perfect he wouldn’t need private lessons anymore, he wouldn’t need any help from mr. yates.

so, the second he was offered a chance to move to hawaii and attend luama in their classical music program he jumped at the opportunity forgetting all his plans to go to juliard and train with the best at the best school, he just wanted to get as far away as he possibly could.

however, running away from his hometown and his abuser didn’t make it disappear as he’d hoped. river suffered from nightmares when he did sleep and being awake wasn’t much better, he had a hard time interacting and getting along with other people because what was perceived as a perfectionist quality and arrogance about his art was really self destruction – river was hurting himself and pushing himself too hard.

so, now we’re in the present, river’s second year out here and things aren’t much better. in his first year he really isolated himself and when he wasn’t in class, he was playing until his fingers bled and picking up new instruments. he would play from dusk until dawn.

PANIC ATTACK TW: after a particularly bad night for the male where he had a traumatic panic attack leaving the studio’s on campus – he’s been made to seek help and talk to someone about his haunting history. they’ve set up a plan for him to follow, steps to hopeful recovery and re-immersing himself into society.

therefore, river has no choice but to make friends. he’s being watched and forced into doing more than just music ( as it’s been unfortunately destroying him ). actually, he’s not allowed to spend more than two extra hours a day with an instrument in hand when not in class as decided by his therapist. and he’s got a routine that’s mandatory he sticks to or else he’ll be forced to leave his job and return home to london, england.

so yeah, basically river is now trying to make friends and navigate his life in a way he’s never done before. he’s going to be shy, he’s going to be bitchy, he’s going to have all kinds of new emotions. he’s learning and he’s recovering, he won’t be perfect and he’ll make mistakes, he’ll relapse and have fits. but he’s just going to need some patience.

river is bisexual and has been out since he was thirteen, his mother took it well and his father isn’t exactly okay with it but he also didn’t disown him so he counts that as a win.

he attended a prestigious private school in london and did alright, he was never top of the class ( except for in music, they called him a prodigy ) but he was never at the bottom either.

So Kai’s life started a bit...peculiar seeing as he was born in prison to an incarcerated mother. Yup. He was a prison baby. Very few people know about this though and Kai doesn’t really know much about his birth mother seeing as she keeps getting into trouble and prolonging her sentence. His Aunt was the one who raised him and who Kai considers his real mother. They tell everyone that she’s his real mom.

His Aunt wasn’t married or anything, she’s a Doctor and has never really had time for dating so she raised him as a single mom. To this day, she’s still primarily single. He loves his badass Mom but does worry she gets lonely.

Lives and breathes musical theatre. Got into Tisch but didn’t tell his mother because he’s afraid to leave her alone. They’re sort of all one another have. But listen, this boy is Broadway bound so get ready to just...see him slay it on the stage countless times. He never feels more raw and vulnerable than when he’s on stage.

Very gay and very out and proud about it. A total fuckboy whose honestly just looking for love but that’s sort of hard to find in college so meaningless sex works as well. He probably has a crush on every cute guy.

Can be a bit of a target for bullying because he’s always been so open and unapologetically himself. College has gotten better and he’s definitely deemed as cooler.

Alexis Story (A mess of a story, I’m sorry)

With a drug addict of a mother and a father who was never in the picture to begin with Alexis fate was inevitable, well hers and her twin. One was blessed with a life of luxury and the condemn with one of pure solitude, only having herself to depend on while being in the system. Now which of the two is was blessed and the other condemned? Now you may the story of whom I am narrating is Alexis except it’s not, not really. You see Alexis died quite some years ago and the story of her demise will come to light shortly, no this is the story of her sister, the sister that threw her name the day the real Alexis died and took on not only her name but her identity as well. But why? How? And how exactly did Alexis die? Well by the hands of no other but her own fresh and blood. Now don’t get her wrong, it was Alexis death was a pure accident, a happy accident in the mind of, let’s call her Lex to avoid any confusion. The twins forgot about the other existence seeing as they were separated at the age of five but fate intervened eleven years letter and the two cross paths. The two started to occasionally meet up and exchange stories of their lives but Lex jealousy over her sister just grew, alongside it pure resentment toward her sister. She couldn’t help but ask why her? What did she have that she didn’t to have gotten adopted, why did she have to live a life of misery and loneliness and the other a blessed life full of love and joy? What did she ever to do deserve this? After all she was but a child at the time, so what was so off about her? Then one day Alexis invited Lex when the house was free from her parents, she took Lex to her room and showed her her photo albums and diaries. The resentment and anger grew, and soon enough all she could see was red and before she even knew what she was doing she found her sister laying on the floor in the pool of her own blood. Lex was frantic but then a light bulb light up, this was her chance, the chance to get the life she rightfully deserve. She lived her fill now it was her turn. Lex cleaned up the scene and put the body in the trunk of Alexis, well now her car, and drove, drove for miles till she find the perfect place to hide the body. Once back “home” Lex studied up on Alexis diaries and her social media, thankfully the passwords to said social medias were saved on Alexis computer. It wasn’t long before Lex fully emerged herself in this new roles of hers. No one ever suspected a thing, not even Alexis own parents. Lex acting skills surprised even herself. But she knew, the chance of slipping were more than probably so she had to go somewhere far far away from any prying eyes, such as Luama University. Like hell she was going to attend to same college of her so called “friends” and keeping a strictly limited relationship with her “parents” would be for the best to avoid accidentally raising any flags of some sort.

Alexis Personality

If one were to go to 100 people and ask just what kind of person Alexis is, chances are you will get a different answer each time. You see no one truly knows Alexis, not even her own friends. While every sees this as she having this sort of wall up but truth be told she is simply a chameleon. Forever wearing a mask, taking on this character depending of the situation, what you can be sure of is the character she takes on isn’t for yours of anyone’s benefit but her own. She thrives off chaos and instead of treating people as people, she treat them most of the time as toys for her own amusement. 

Now here’s a word of advice, I suggest you don’t get on her bad side because things may just get deadly. <- I’m sorry but what am I writing? I blame it being the spooky season.

- grew up in the country town of broken hill, nsw, australia but she and her mum moved to melbourne, vic to escape her father after they had a falling out. ( i’m highkey just making her australian so i can use a bounty of slang on you all get ready ). 

- she grew up in the suburbs, her mum growing more and more distressed as she aged. the abuse that her father would give her mother had maintained a long-term effect on and her mental health was deteriorating more and more with every drink she consumed. 

- aspen learned the difficulties of life when she was young, and she began having to take care of her own world. she began work at 14 at a trusty mcdonalds store ( less than minimum wage ) and found herself in a managerial position when she was 18. 

- she was a hard worker and she maintained good grades. the fact that she did this with her mother’s state was remarkable, but she had support from teachers and parents-of-friends throughout the experience. lots of pasta bakes were taken home by this girl, they basically lived off them.

- it was a surprise when she realised she needed to move away. she’d lived a life merely looking after her mother but could that really be considered living a life. with her mcdonalds funds, a scholarship to luama, and a backpack on her back, she found her way to luama. that’s where she is now.

- what of her mother? that’s a good question. i don’t even know yet, so we’ll just get back to that one day.

 personality

- very edgy and sarcastic. you can see that she was raised on the rougher side of town, that she had to fend for herself, that she’s aged a lot quite quickly. but she’s trying to embrace the trueness of being a university student and alas there are bounties of new experiences that she won’t say no to.

- actually genuine though. she grew up having to support her mother and she understands the necessity to be kind to others. she doesn’t want to hurt anyone.

- definitely a hard worker. she’s here on scholarship, and she’s not intelligent just good at trying hard, so she can get caught up in her own little world sometimes. 

- probably the definition of ‘tomboy’. aka, she’ll ride her skateboard basically everywhere, most likely has a beanie on and really doesn’t know how to dress appropriately for parties. someone teach her how to be a girl.
