you woke up to a trainwreck of migraines. you tried to get out of bed, only to find out that every single muscle in your body was sore.

you groaned—there was no way you could go to dance practice in this state.

you quickly thumbed a message on the groupchat: im sick. i can’t make it to practice tdy

you threw your phone somewhere on your bed and closed your eyes, your eyelids feeling heavy.

you had almost started drifting back to sleep when footsteps sounded towards your room.

chaewon peeked her head in, a plastic bag in her hands.

“can i come in?”

“sure,” you croaked, immediately wincing at the roughness in your throat.

she sat on your bedside, careful not to jostle the blankets. her chest tightened at how small you looked under the sheets. 

“don’t you have to go to dance practice?” you whispered, leaning into her touch as she brushed your hair away from your face.

she shook her head gently. “i told them to practice without us. there’s no way i’m going to leave you alone when you’re sick.” 

chaewon reached in her plastic bag and pulled out a vial of medicine. 

“open.”

you swallowed the disgusting cough syrup, gagging a little as you did so.

“good girl,” she cooed softly. she didn’t fail to notice the light blush that dusted your cheeks (though you blamed it on the fever, of course). 

she tucked the blanket closer to your body, noticing how your body shivered uncontrollably. 

when she pulled her hand back, your fingers curled around her sleeve without thinking. 

“stay,” you mumbled.

chaewon’s heart melted at your gesture. “i’m not going anywhere.” 

“you promise?” you were starting to feel a little sleepy again, the medicine having taken its effect
