LIGHTNING RETURNS: FFXIII (2013)
I've heard what they say about me. They call me a "saint," and they say that I can "talk to Chaos." But I'm no saint. I can't talk back to the voices. Only listen.

Lightning Returns *Major Spoilers*
I finished the incredible journey that is Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII (and thus the entire trilogy) and I must say it was amazing. I don't understand the negative reviews, but I digress. The ONLY thing I would have changed about the ending is that it would have been nice to see some familiar faces of the souls of the dead. The NORA team might have been a fairly small role in XIII, but in XIII-2 they were Serah's entire family. She spent three years with them, helping build a new life on Pulse, before setting off on her journey. (And, well, who didn't want to see Yuj one last time?...) I understand that LR was Lightning's story and thus it wouldn't make a ton of sense to have Lebreau, Gadot, Maqui, and Yuj play an important role, but Hope got to see a glimpse of his mother and father. Seeing as how Light never actually met Nora (Hope's mama) it seemed to be a bit of fan service for us playing the game. And it was a nice emotional reward. I think they could have really had a wonderful payoff by showing some faces of the dead. Even seeing Amodar again would have been a great treat for us, let alone Lightning. In the end, though, the ending was still great. Maybe those parts are simply supposed to be imagined by us in the post-credits world. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.
