Have you ever wondered how an alveolar preservation is performed with L-PRF, Dr. @hardpalette shows it to you with these brilliant illustrations . . . See what people have been using L-PRF for 🩸 🩸 Platelet rich fibrin described by Choukroun et al. is a second-generation platelet concentrate obtained from spinning down the patient’s autologous blood at a given RPM and time. The centrifugation separates out the acellular plasma (platelet poor plasma) from the platelet rich fibrin clot and red blood cells. PRF has a dense fibrin network with leukocytes, cytokines, structural glycoproteins and growth factors such as TGF-b1, PDGF, and VGEF. I won’t get into the long list of what its benefits are, but its becoming a popular treatment adjunct to promote tissue repair. 🔨 You can flatten the clots to make them into membranes, or place them in a cylinder and compress them with a piston to make plugs. People have found various ways to use them in every-day practice including socket preservation, regeneration in periodontal defects, sinus floor elevation and root coverage. There is a growing amount of literature that supports the use of PRF in dentistry - do you use them in your clinic? Or should I be asking ..do you have a centrifuge? 😂 #lprf #periodontology #periodontics #dentalstudent #dentistry #oralsurgery #periodoncia #dentalart #crown #periimplantitis #sinus #regeneration #woundhealing https://www.instagram.com/p/CLXAvoBFkFm/?igshid=1vbbyupvffnrt
