The locally based(Durham, NC) independent record label, Merge Records, recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary last summer and Laura Ballance, co-founder of Merge Records, came to us to collaborate on how to repurpose their festival banners into one-of-a-kind bags. Needless to say, we were beyond excited to get to work on this project with them!
They wanted the bags to be simple / functional / practical - completely in-line with the Holly Aiken brand aesthetic. To utilize the banners in the best way possible, we decided on a Market Tote, an LP Bag and Billfold. We love the final result - each bag shows a snippet of the festival banners, making them distinct and individual; a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of Merge. Take a peak at the process...
- A few of the banners we received - a few were as long as 30 feet! -
