Yes, it’s been 20 years. Remember 1996? a time before the Spice Girls, Shrek, X-factor and Strictly. A time when phones were like bricks and were for making calls and the internet was just for gee…
Back then, Maurice Whittle – our founder, was the Director of a national construction company. A major disruption to his operations was computer theft. Thieves were breaking in and stealing computers, targeting the memory chips which were worth their weight in gold – 4MB RAM cost over £100!
Maurice looked for a solution, and found that there wasn’t one.
After 35 years in construction, he spotted the opportunity and relished the challenge of something new – something he could apply his business and management experience to solve.
Lox-IT That’s how we began. Maurice started by designing and producing quality steel security cases and clamps for Desktop PC’s Towers and Servers. Locks for IT. There was pent up demand in schools, businesses, universities and other public offices. Physical IT asset and data protection were issues becoming ever more critical to businesses.
We grew fast, but Maurice insisted on UK manufacturing and supporting local people and businesses – we still do today.
