Have you guys considered implementing a separate section for setting? Having a small section per character is fine, but it'd be great to have a place to put detail about, say, fictional regions that your characters are from and the culture behind that. I'd probably have a million more words on the site and a lot more fun with that.
We have considered this - but actually you can do this now if you create your setting as a character. Character can be found in any number of things, from people to animals to buildings to towns, and whilst fields like 'sexuality' may not be needed for your town, it certainly might have an 'age' and 'personality'!
Then you can put it as the head of a group and connect it to all its inhabitants :) At least, that's what I've been doing with one of my stories and have found it pretty helpful!
dude how do you even NaNo i write like. one word per day. and then go back to doing jack shit like a lazy trash like where are you finding this motivation
lemme tell you a secret my friend the secret is called fuckin WORD WARS see me and one of my cool bros (lookin at you plastic wink wonk) do this thing where we race to see who can hit 500 words first so we just kind of shut down everything because if we win then this other cool bro (lookin at you darkz wink wonk) gives us a seal of cool and somehow that motivates us
so you do three word wars and you're already at 1.5k aka 100 words away from par, so on a good day we can get at least close to par within two hours
it also helps that i'm really into my story (´・ω・`) though i guess i was into my other nano attempts too disclaimer this is the farthest i've ever gotten and i'm not even halfway there yet
the moral of the story is wage wars on the innocent for the sake of tally marks and no goal is unattainable
wink wonk my friend (`・ω・´)ゞ
