Saw your post about horror and your boundaries, and how you’re considering Obsession and just — it is a fantastic film, truly. But, if Saw isn’t ever gonna be something you consider, maybe Obsession won’t sit well with you. For the first Saw the most in your face gore you see is Amanda cutting into a man and lots of blood in the bathroom. Thats about it - the first Saw really isn’t as Gory as people remember it being.
I say this because, Obsession IS.
it is a fantastic film! And what it speaks on is done phenomenally. But from blood, piss, and vomit, to a woman’s face bashed in and then full body displayed ass naked — please be prepared! It is a great movie - it is not going to be easy to sit through if these are things you are not ready to consume yet. ☺️
Thank you for the heads up! It’s so hard for me to try and judge things from previews and reading synopses. I feel like I can handle stuff from the 70s/80s/90s because of how different the technology they used to make stuff is compared to current things. I’ve definitely gotten more comfortable with some gore in recent years, but I know that some stuff is still too much. I do often watch parts of The Pitt with my hands covering my face and my mom likes to laugh at my reaction because she’s not phased by it. For so long I avoided the genre completely but now I’m getting more into it and trying to find my way.
