In Hydra season 2,after rereading it again,my eyes were sweating it's just too much of angst and we can see both emotional and romantic development in hydra and mc's relationship and I will always love how hydra takes stand for her when hades kissed her on stairs. even after all these read I still can't understand why hades kissed her because at the time of it she was having a panic attack because of Zeus and he just swoops in without her consent after his whole old-school persona in his route.
ok mood the development of hydra's and mc's relationships as well as the development of their characters is just *chef's kiss* incredible. and s2 always makes me cry a lot, mc just goes through so much.....
anyways regarding hades:
by the end of hydra's s2, ha stands by mc's and hydra's claim that mc is hera's reincarnation, not deandra.
that means that in the scope of hydra's route, hades already knows mc has hera's potential
that is why hades was trying so hard to sway mc to the gods. that's why he invited her to dinner on olympus. that's why he kissed her in the stairwell. that's why he came to her defense at the end of the season.
he didn't want hera's power falling in with a monster.... but mc is already in love with hydra. he's too late. still, he tries.
he tries, with that kiss in the stairwell. obviously it was Not Good and a very very stupid thing to do, but (and this is just my opinion on it lol) hades most likely thought that if he could comfort her in this time of great need, then maybe he would stand a chance and bring hera's power back to the gods. maybe she would choose them- choose him
but that backfires spectacularly. mc is simply not interested in hades romantically. and she's DEFINITELY not one to cheat on her SO.
was the kiss wrong? yeah, absolutely. but do i get why he attempted it, as stupid as it was? yep.
he was being selfish, as gods are, and only succeeded in pushing mc further from the gods :)
