ok so i have a kind of longwinded idea about art lol. i imagine this in his stanford days. i can just see him being in this kind of situation, his inner patheticness has inspired me
-the mc would be kind of spoiled and art would have a thing for her so he'd just kind of do whatever she wanted. and she'd be kind of flattered and find it funny, but then it would suddenly be useful. like, he's always asking if she needs anything, and suddenly she has someone to grab whatever snack or caffeinated drink she wants
-and then she's bad at math (or any subject really), and suddenly she has him doing her homework, and having to explain every little detail after so she doesn't fail the quizzes later. and she's not even using him on purpose but he's making it too easy and she's used to just having things available to her anyway so she doesn't think too hard about it
-so when she wants to see some dumb movie but doesn't wanna go alone, she can just drag him along. and when she goes shopping she'll drag him around to twenty different stores and make him come in the dressing room to give her opinions while he's pining away the entire time watching her get dressed up in cute outfits
-she literally sleeps with him in her bed sometimes because maybe she had a bad day and she wants someone to cuddle with. and she's kind of aware he likes her, he made it so obvious at the beginning, but she also blissfully forgets about it, he just becomes her favorite friend who will do literally whatever she says
-art would literally just do this his entire time at college, pining and following her around. and the funny thing is if they every did hookup it would be very much friends-with-benefits even though he'd be in love with her. on the off-chance it happened it would be because she realized that getting herself off was too much work, someone else should be doing that too. and she wouldn't even actually sleep with him either, he'd just be doing it solely for her. and she'd still see him as a friend, just helping her out
-and it's not even her fault for using him, really, because he's the one who showed up in her life with any excuse to get close to her, and who offered to do every one of those things. even if he is heartbroken she never wakes up and sees him as more than her most helpful friend (but he still strives to do it all perfectly cause he's pathetic and takes what he can get)
oh my god yes this is so lovesick!art!!! i think we’ve talked about a few of these before, like the endless extend of the things he would do.
and while it’s all fun and games for you ‘cause you got yourself a really really good friend, it’s actually kinda heartbreaking for him :(
every time he does something for you, he hopes that it’ll make you see him in a different light. he hopes to prove his love to you by doing whatever he can, and maybe you’ll recognize the intent behind his actions and fall in love with him. at one point, after he’s fucked you with his fingers and cuddled you all night, he realizes that isn’t gonna happen. you’re not gonna wake up in his bed the next morning and ask him to be your boyfriend. no, you only see him as a friend. so he keeps doing everything you ask, even if it hurts him. at least he still has your platonic kisses to look forward to when you thank him :(
