I asked. I care about what you have to say. Your words are relevant in my eyes. I care about how you feel and I care about your struggles and I care about your small victories and I care about your obscure interests and I care about your strong opinions and I care about anything and everything else you say to me. 

Next time you hear someone say “who asked” to someone else, I challenge you to say “I did”. I’ve noticed that it can make a big difference for people to get a reminder that they are cared about, that their words are landing on willing ears.

So valid, May. You are so valid. This world has so much to be furious, miserable, and ecstatic about that it’s only natural for an empathetic person to feel the full extent of those emotions. 

As for your sexuality; how could anyone try to tell you it’s not valid? It seems like it’s less valid to only like people who fit a factor they can’t control, their gender, than it is to like people based on their souls and your compatibility. Your sexuality is beautiful. You love people for their humanity and their being, not their gender. 

The most powerful person is someone who can express their emotions, feel the full extent of those emotions, understand how others feel, and communicate to others about feelings. You cry when you’re mad because you don’t like being mad, right? Because you want to see the best in people, even when they’ve hurt you so badly. You have every right to be mad, but your loving, passionate, caring mind’s first instinct is to feel bad for your anger because you want to be able to show everyone you care.
