Riot Act is a fantastic Pearl Jam album, one that fits their catalog in so many ways that you have to call it a definitive work of the band. This 2002 release features the same production team as Binaural, so it feels like a perfect companion to that, yet at the same time a spiritual successor to Vitalogy, and a further evolution of the band with Matt Cameron's presence on the skins. With all of the sociopolitical upheaval around the time of its composition (the 2001 WTC attacks, the burgeoning Afghanistan and Iraq wars, an all too familiar political clusterfuck around the world) its very politically driven, but not quite a protest album. To miss this one is a huge disservice, so get on it. Highlight tracks include Save You, Love Boat Captain, Ghost, I Am Mine, Bu$hleaguer, and All Or None. Available on iTunes and Spotify.
