Unfortunately for all my WIPs, I am deeply fixated on Lottie, Van, and Laura Lee’s dynamic as a trio. The show gives us the smallest of tidbits into the bond all three of them shared.

My brain is really been spinning on them lately. I know LottieLee gets its proper acknowledgement in fandom but Van is also a key component.

an aspect of lottielee&lottievan that i think about sosososo often is that lottie had visions of both laura lee and van's deaths and everything she did to stop them set It in motion

van got hurt so badly she died, at least momentarily. laura lee took the plane mainly because of lottie and van (lottie's visions gave her faith; van's injuries gave her purpose), and It took laura lee, but It gave van back to lottie; a girl baptized and reborn, a new believer, the second acolyte.

laura lee burns. van doesn't. lottie sees both of them on fire in her dreams.

Taissa is incredibly jealous of Lottie and Van’s bond, imo. I don’t think the show will ever explore it (unfortunately) but I would bet money on Tai being the reason Van kinda ditched Lottie between s2 and s3.

Now that being said. I am not in the camp where I think Van and Lottie have anything sexual going on (not knocking anyone who does, it’s fun to see Van hooking up with other people that aren’t Tai and Lottie is one of the easiest people to ship Van with)

I consider Lottie to have a really close bond with Van (due to them both being friends with Laura Lee) and I think Lottie understands Van in ways Taissa can’t or won’t.

I do think Lottie probably holds Van a lot and hugs her. (Out of a need to fill Laura Lee’s shoes) And touches Van’s scars.

That level of intimacy bothers Taissa. Van confides and lets down her prickly exterior very easily for Lottie I think.
