This sounds really crude but I'm really curious...what do you do to survive in this terrestrial world? My sincere apologies for such intrusiveness.
hello! you are certainly not crude and forgive me for responding after a long time; a lot has been happening lately.
regarding your question: you refer to this world as āterrestrial worldā and i think it is safe to assume that you believe in a different existence aside from this one we have right now, is it not? i do not know if we have the same beliefs, but i do believe that this world is not my home; that i was meant for a kinder, softer, better worldāin the presence of our Creator. i long for it often: the concept of a better place, a perfect refuge, and with that self same knowledge, sometimes i find it meaningless to exist here in this fleshly world we have right now.
so, for the days that seem like it is hard to survive, i keep in mind:
1. āā¦the Present is the point at which time touches eternity,ā says C. S. Lewis in The Screwtape Letters. this means all the power to change, act, move, are concentrated in the present moment, the now, the today. the future is not yet, and the past is already come, but the present means endless possibilities. however, this does not mean that i do not think of the future; it just teaches my heart that i do not live neither in the future nor the past. so my goal is to always always be mindful of what i have in the present, which leads me to my second point;
2. anything that i can enjoy for more than one day is blessing from God. i was meditating about Matthew 6:9, that specific line in The Lordās Prayer that says: āGive us this day our daily bread,ā and i understood that everything that we have today is daily ābreadā from Godādaily patience, life, love, hope, faith, purpose, provisionāand everything that can last for more than one day is a gift. this teaches my heart to be grateful, and to not overlook the blessings i was only praying for before that i am now currently enjoying.
3. failures/mistakes do not diminish our worth/dreams/life. this is hard for me to embody because i am always very hard on myself, but i am slowly learning that every morning, God gives us a new slate to work on, to be kinder, to serve, to love, to dream. this teaches me that it is alright to fail, without removing accountability (i mean, my belief that God gives me new grace/mercy every morning makes every morning more precious because everyday i am loved; everyday i am forgiven).
4. lastly, whatever happens, i have faith that God is sovereign; that all things work together for the good. this is the hardest for me to understand as of now, because my family and i are going through a hard season, and the state of the world is beyond comprehension most of the time. however, i still believe in the goodness of God, as i have witnessed tiny little miracles in my life before. i have faith that i will arrive in a softer, kinder shore.
as i have said, i do not know if we believe in the same things, and i do not know what you are going through, but i pray to God that youāll have hope and love and joy in your heart always, especially in times when it is harder to have them. thank you for dropping by my inbox.
standing with you in prayer,
p.s. thank you for asking this question; i really needed that self-reflection i did for this mail.
