conformitygate was SUCH a missed opportunity. i mean, i think EVERYONE knows that, but seriously. it would've made HISTORY. genuinely would make people fear vecna more, bcs i feel like the duffers nerfed him a lot? like you REALLY think he's gonna be defeated in like 10 minutes? vecna AND the mind flayer? he had so much more potential as a villain. like that scene with hopper getting vecna'd? that's EXACTLY what i wanted to see, him getting into everyone's minds and manipulating them, turning the group against EACH OTHER.
that was part of why i loved s2 so much, will as the spy was SUCH an amazing plot point and i wish they did more with that!! like at least making will possessed or smthn (because really. what was that melvald milkshake lost in the woods bullshit.)? AND MAKING EVERYONE VECNA'D WOULDVE BEEN PEAK. truly such a missed opportunity.
