“ we were both afraid, shut up. ”
six-word sentences.
“Oh, is that so?” Mika smirked and began to laugh. “I don’t think I was as afraid as you!” he chuckled quietly. The two were sat on the small couch in Mika’s living room. After much persuading, Mika had convinced Slaine to watch the strange looking horror film with him. He had never seen anything like it and why someone would want to be scared was sort of confusing to him...but still he couldn’t stop his curiosity from being piqued.
“I’m almost sure I heard you scream at one point.” Mika didn’t want to admit that even he had found himself jumping back a bit at some of the jump scares in the movie. “Think you’ll have nightmares tonight?” he teased gently. It was times like these he really appreciated his friendship with the other. He certainly made this city feel less lonely.

Clutching the book to his chest, Mika made his way into the library. It was one of his favorite places to spend his time, mostly because he was able to read in peace and no one took the time to bother him. It was a peaceful place...and reading helped him forgot his annoying and often times wandering thoughts.
He approached the front desk, dropping the book in the slot as he did. Smiling, he saw Slaine standing behind the check out counter. The other boy was quite similar to him actually. Missing someone he had once known...feeling lost in this new place. Feelings they both shared...it made Mika feel welcome around the other. Or rather...he felt understood. And he didn’t really have to explain himself.
“Afternoon, Slaine,” he smiled gently. “I finished the last book you recommended. Do you have any others?” he asked. “If not, I’ll search around, but I’ve liked the past few novels you’ve suggested.”
