I'm finishing lostbelt no. 2 a little late, but I've got a lot on my mind so I'm gonna let it all out on the internet because I can't sleep and I have nothing better to do.
I have a grand total of maybe 3 soft spots, and anyone who knows me knows that number one on that list is children.
Yes, yes I know it's not real, I know it's just a game. But I'll be darned if these feelings don't sure feel real at this moment.
F/GO really does an excellent job of creating an emotionally charged story and they sure got me right where it hurts this time around.
There's just something especially haunting about a child showing their bright and inquisitive face to what they think will be a hopeful new day and being met with nonexistence they never knew was coming and never would know had came.
So often in fate, we see protagonists, antagonists, and supporting characters all making their own conscious, deliberate choices in the face of the inevitable. We see ultimate decisions spurred by determination marred with conflict. This case was different. There was an absence of choice and an absence of knowledge. Gerda was not ignorant, she was innocent.
This lostbelt has done a particularly excellent job at painting the morally grey aspect of the lostbelts as a whole and though I knew it was coming, I had no idea how poignant it would be.
Finished lb2.
And now begins the Skadi grind. 1.3k SQ, how deep do I go and I'm willing to buy more.
