Little River State Beach, Trinidad State Beach, Patrick's Point State Park, Humboldt Lagoons State Park Redwood National Park, Prairie Cree
The California Coastal Trail is incomplete and, frankly, has quite a lot of road walking. However, there are places where it is mostly trail. There are 1001 guides to hiking the Lost Coast Trail, or at least the ~25 mile northern section but quite a few actually cover it all. I can't seem to find any for the area dense in State and National Parks between Arcata and Crescent City. This area, too, is mostly trail. There are a few large chunks of road: north and south of Trinidad and the crossing of the Klamath River. That last one is the longest and goes on for 8 miles! It also gets in nearly 20 continuous miles of trail and beach by Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and another 20 miles of trail through Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park.
I see a need, I've decided to try to fill it. This is the first time I've tried to write up a trail guide. This section is it. The trail has its challenges, but it has plenty of rewards, too.

Nonconnah ~ Songs For And About Ghosts
Nonconnah ~ Songs For And About Ghosts
The third full-length from Memphis-area dronegazers Nonconnah, Songs For And About Ghosts sounds rather like the title suggests; the howls of haunted media, fluttery half-recorded-over melodies, an accumulation of memories, the layers of time, a cresting wave of drone, a triumphant song rising up from the beyond. This husband-and-wife duo have been releasing music together for over a decade now,…

lost trail -- industry
The various winter valley landscapes along the lost trail we ended up on instead of the Cloudsplitter trail we planned on locating.
Red River Gorge, Kentucky.
This trail, had at least, 9 years of regrowth signs from the last period of fire that left a burn scar on the ridge. Pushing through the scrub on this trail was not as fun as it is when it’s just pine and rhododendron thickets because of the abnormal amount of greenbriar and carrion flower on this ridge line. Still, the views along the way were fantastic. We also would not of ended up on this trail if it wasn’t for the recent ice storm and a climber who had bushwhacked the trail within the same week we were there.
For an hour we looked at several ridge funnels, offwidths, and slab routes that may be capable of being free soloed to get onto a platue that seemed like it hadn’t been touched but once by the climber who bushwhacked it. Josh ended up trying his best to test out a safe, boulder like route we could try as it was raining but to know avail. We need to come back when it’s dry with gear.
